WoW Fishing Guide: A Recipe for Success

This WoW Fishing Guide was set up to teach you how to level as fast as possible. I decided to leave out the things or details which were not important so as not to waste time.

Considering that I will be covering the facts on how to fish and what not, I have decided to also cover cooking since they complement each other well; you will be able to use your time to polish your skills on both fishing and cooking at the same time.

This guide will take place in 15 hours, or 11 if you are fast.

Causes in skill rate change:

The skill rate you have increases depending on your number of successful catches.

Here is the fairly accurate equation:

(current unmodified fishing level - 25) / 25 = # of fish needed to level, assuming there's a minimum number of fish per catch.

Note that where you fish does not matter. Again, your skill rate increases based on the number of successful catches that you've made.

Horde

1. You must start from the Bloodhoof Village in Mulgore.

2. Speak to Harn Longcast, and purchase the recipes Billiant Smallfish and Longjaw Mud Snapper.

3. After that, you must go to Stonebull Lake where you may begin fishing.

4. Start equipping the rod, then apply the shiny bauble lure in it. This will help you to catch fish easier!

5. Spend approximately 40 minutes in catching 60 Brilliant Smallfish.

6. At about this time, you should have fished out about 30 Longjaw Mud Snappers. Once you have about 60 of them already, cook them. Build your own fire or you can just go back to Harn Longcast and use his fire.

7. Start cooking the Brilliant Smallfish.

8. At level 50, you should start cooking Longjaw Mud Snappers.

9. Then, start catching Longjaw Mud Snappers in the pond in Orgrimmar. The drop rate in Orgrimmar is better so it will be more efficient for you to go there than stay in your current position.

10. Somewhere between levels 50 and 70, start learning journeyman cooking and fishing.

11. To be able to raise your cooking rate up to 100, catch at least 30 Longjaw Mud Snappers.

12. Move to Tarren Mill in Hillsbrad. Go and purchase Bristle Whisker Catfish recipe from Derak Nightfall.

13. In order to reach your cooking level up to 175, you will be required about 80 to 100 of these.

14. When you reach between levels 125 and 150, go to Shadowprey Village in Desolace and purchase the Expert Cookbook.

15. Go to Booty Bay and purchase a book for your fishing level. Talk to Old Man Heming and purchase his Expert Fishing book.

16. Once you reach 175 cooking, go to Shadowprey Village in Desolace.

17. Seek Wulan and buy Mithril Head Trout recipe to begin fishing on the pier.

18. For you to raise your cooking level up to 225, you must get about 60 of these.

Once you have completed the above 18 steps, you should have reached cooking level 225. If you haven't reached level 35 yet, this is as far as you can go. But if you are on levels 35 or above, you would just have 2 more quests to hurdle before you can move on.

First quest: Cooking and Second quest: Fishing

For my alliance fishing guide, go to World of Warcraft Fishing Guide (Alliance).

I strongly suggest signing up for the free mini-course which is also a quick and simple guide on how to level up 1-75 in WoW. Thank you for reading! I hope this guide has helped you gain a little (if not much) significant information.
