Best PS3 Prices

PS3 Sale Price

Have you looked in the sale papers for a PS3?  It seems that the demand is high enough that most stores don't run sales or when they do it's not much of a discount.  It can sometimes be frustrating if you're on a tight budget.

I feel your pain!  I've tried to justify the purchase in so many ways.  I knew I could try to sell my old PS2 and even the games to raise money for a PS3 fund.  I've given serious thought to cleaning out my closet, trying to find some of those old jeans that now seem to be in fashion and see if I could sell them on eBay.  I dug through the basement in the junk room looking for old board games and stuffed animals to auction off online.  We even put our stuff in a neighborhood sale to come up with the funds to buy a PS3.  After doing the math I had made about $5 an hour or a measly $50.  As an aside, garage sales are not the way to go!  I definitely recommend auctioning your old stuff off on eBay, you'll make much more money.

It's not just you, I feel the same way.  The PS3 has so much to offer in compared to other gaming consoles.  I was sold when I found it was Blu-Ray.  Obviously, the games are awesome in HD and I just upgraded my Netflix membership to include Blu-Ray/HD movies as well.  That's a hard-sell to the wife!  If you're not already hooked on HD it only takes 1 day of having it in your house and you'll never go back.  In the end it wasn't that difficult to get her on my side for the PS3 purchase except when it came to the price.

I've been digging around for a while and I've discovered that to get the best price on the best game system that plays Blu-Ray you can't get a better value than with a PS3.  Even when it's not on sale!  The average Blu-Ray player will cost you $200-$250 but it doesn't play games.  The new XBOX does play games in HD and movies as well but it uses the not-chosen HD DVD format.  Still, the challenge is getting a PS3 at a discount if at all possible.

I searched on eBay and some other traditional auction sites and found that there really aren't any PS3 Sale Prices out there.  You have to get a bundle with the console, games and accessories that costs way more than just buying a console outright.  It just doesn't add up when I'm trying to save money, not spend more.

I had to get creative with my thinking and break away from the herd.  I started investigating unique bid auction sites.  You'll find a few out there for sure but one stands above the rest, www.auctions4acause.com.  They have more everyday items available for auction, including the PS3, than any of the other sites.  You'll find cars, boats and vacations on the other sites.  That's fine and dandy but I just want the console!

I knew I had a winner when I found that site.  They had the item I wanted and it was possible for me to get it very cheap.  I went there and created an account.  I made 3 entries and hoped I had outsmarted the other bidders.  Alas, I didn't win the first time around.  I waited a week before another one came available to bid on.  I bid 3 or 4 more times, said my prayers and waited.  Bingo!  This time I had a winner.  About 6 days later I was unpacking the new PS3.  $59 was all I had spent.64.  Not too bad if I say so myself.

It can take a few minutes of reading to truly grasp the concept of the lowest unique bid auction style.  But once you get it, it can be addicting.  Since that time that I won the PS3 I've bid on and won 3 other items including an iPod Nano (they have the best iPod Prices) and $400 gas card.  I've won over $1,200 worth of stuff for about $350 in bid fees.

So don't go searching at Best Buy or Circuit City or Walmart for the best prices on the things you want.  Create an account at Auctions4aCause and see what kind of deal you can get.
